A gentle guide

You can take this one step at a time.

This is a guide for you and the people who love you — a way to think through each step, together, without pressure. There is no schedule here but your own. You can pause, change your mind, or simply gather information. Whatever you need, you don't have to carry it alone.

Step one

Reaching out

The hardest step is often the first question. You can call us just to understand your options — there's no cost, no commitment, and no judgment. We'll listen first.

A gentle prompt: What questions have been sitting on your heart? You don't need the right words — just start where you are.
Step two

Wondering if it's right for you

Medical aid in dying is one option among several. We'll talk honestly about all of them — including palliative care and hospice — so you can find what fits your values and your hopes for this time.

A gentle prompt: What does a peaceful ending look like to you? What matters most in the days you have — comfort, place, the people beside you?
Step three

Talking with your family

These conversations are tender. Some families arrive together; others need time and gentle help to get there. We can be part of these talks, or simply give you the words to begin.

A gentle prompt: Who do you want beside you? Is there someone you'd like to understand your wishes — and someone you'd like to protect?
Step four

Confirming your options with clinicians

Two caring New Mexico clinicians will make sure this path is truly available to you and truly your own. We arrange it — by video or in person, wherever you are in the state — and stay with you through the paperwork so it never feels like a maze.

A gentle prompt: What would help you feel steady during these visits? A familiar face, a written list of questions, a quiet time of day?
Step five

Preparing — and the day itself

When you're ready, we help with every practical piece: the medication, the timing, the setting. You choose where you are and who is with you. A trained companion can be present to support your family — and you never have to use the medication once you have it.

A gentle prompt: Where do you feel most at peace? What sounds, light, or people would you want near you?
Step six

After — care for those you leave

Our care doesn't end at goodbye. We help your family with what comes next — the practical steps and the grief — and we honor your traditions and faith, whatever they are.

A gentle prompt: What would you want your family to remember? Is there something you'd like to leave them — words, a wish, a way to be cared for?

This guide keeps growing

Families teach us something with every journey. We add their questions and wisdom to this guide and to our evolving FAQ, so the people who come after are met with a little more understanding. If a question here is missing, please ask us — it may help the next family, too.

Whenever you're ready — even just to talk.

The first conversation is free, private, and yours to lead.
